Upgrades

Akuna has been continually upgraded during our ownership.  This started with a major internal refit when we purchased Akuna and has been ongoing since then.  For a summary of refit works please click below.

C&L Marine

Although no longer in existence, C&L were one of the major Taiwanese trawler yacht manufacturers in the 1970s and early 1980s.  Their boats were primarily designed for the American market and the Sea Ranger series was designed by American naval architect Herb David.

Like most Taiwanese boats of this era, construction was simple but strong using hand laid fibreglass.  All of the equipment used was from well known American or European companies like General Motors, Groco, Teleflex and Vetus.  Teak was used extensively and the timber from this era was of very high quality.

Despite her age, the woodwork on Akuna is in great condition and the workmanship is comparable to modern trawler yachts.
